At age 84, I published my memoir of my childhood growing up in household of General Liu Yiguang, guarding the Young Marshall Zhang Xue Liang for the first 25 years of his House Arrest in China and Taiwan (1937 - 1962).
I was born in 1933 and am from the province of Hunan. Before the age of 13, I lived in Mainland China. During the anti-Japanese war, I lived behind the war front in the province of Hunan and Guezhou. In 1946, we moved to Taiwan, and I graduated from Taiwan University Agricultural Department in 1958. I worked in the Water Resources Department for four years. In 1963, I attended the Utah State University for my Masters in Civil Engineering. From 1966 - 1975, I worked at the Harza Engineering Company in Chicago. From 1975 - 1988, I continued to work with the same company overseas in Venezuela to design and supervise the building of 4 dams (Represas Guri, Caruachi, Tocoma, and Macagua). In 1999, I retired and am currently residing in Northern California with my wife. Together we have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren.
